University Dinner: Going Dutch – Does transparency bring benefits to DB schemes?

Since the introduction of the Financial Assessment Framework (FTK) in the Netherlands Dutch pension funds have had increasing access to all the data about their schemes. This has created an unparalleled environment of transparency that we do not currently experience in the UK, increasing pension scheme innovation and enhanced recovery plans in the Dutch DB sector. Over the course of this mallowstreet University Dinner, Chris Sier and Matthijs Verweij of KAS BANK, the custodian and fund accountant to 27% of Dutch pension scheme assets, will explain how FTK reporting works in practice, how FTK reporting has impacted the way Dutch pension schemes operate, discuss what this transparency has done to enhance the Dutch industry and whether we should bring the lessons learnt from this to the UK.
