Niall Mills and Philippe Taillardat, partners in First States European direct Infrastructure Business will talk about various aspects of the opportunity set and the current market place, including a look at the risk and return profile of alternative strategies within direct infrastructure based on 20 years of experience in investing in these assets.

Niall and Philippe will also talk about the way that value can be created within a core infrastructure portfolio; both of whom are well positioned to give a clear perspective on where the market is and their view on how it might evolve.

Speakers

Niall Mills
Niall Mills, Head of Asset Management - Europe, at First State Investments (FSI). In his role Niall is based in London and is responsible for the management of assets in Europe. In addition, he will be supporting the funds in deal origination and transactions. The funds have a primary focus on direct investment in major infrastructure projects including electricity transmission and distribution, toll roads, water distribution, pipelines and airports. Niall represents FSI on the Boards of Anglian Water Group (AWG), Electricity North West (ENW) and Reganosa (Regasificadora del Norosete S.A.)
Philippe Taillardat
Philippe Taillardat is Co-Head of Investment Management in the European Direct Infrastructure team at First State Investments (‘FSI’), where his primary responsibility is to interact with clients, originate deal flow and contribute his experience to investment decisions. In total, Philippe has more than 18 years’ experience in energy, infrastructure and other industrial sectors. Philippe holds a Master in Business Administration from EMLYON Business School, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Arts et Métiers ParisTech with a major in Industrial System Management.
