AXA Investment Managers has appointed Marie Luchet as head of ESG and sustainability for its private markets unit AXA IM Prime.

From 16 May, Luchet will be responsible for overseeing AXA IM Prime’s sustainability strategy including the integration of environmental, social and governance in investment decision making, funds and asset managers selection, as well as in the reporting and product design.

She joins AXA from risk and compliance consultancy ACA, where she was heading up the ESG strategy for Europe and UK since 2022, advising private markets investors from the US, the UK and Europe on their ESG strategy and regulatory and reporting requirements.

Luchet worked at the UN’s Principles for Responsible Investment between 2016 and 2022, first as head of France and southern Europe in the investor relations team and then as director of continental Europe. She also served as head of responsible investment at investment managers ECOFI Investissements from 2010 to 2016 and was an ESG sell-side analyst at advisory firm CIC Market Solutions from 2006 to 2008.

Based in Paris, she will report to Pascal Christory, chief executive of AXA IM Prime, who said: “Marie brings more than two decades of experience in sustainable finance and corporate social responsibility, and she will be instrumental in continuing to develop our sustainability strategy, as well as championing ESG across the business as it is a pivotal lever for AXA IM Prime’s value generation and innovation for the benefit of our clients”.
