Allianz Global Investors has appointed Johann Bey as head of Allianz Insurance Asset Management to succeed Edouard Jozan, who became head of European distribution for AllianzGI in December 2022.

Heading a team of a dozen people based in Paris, Frankfurt and Munich, Bey will be in charge of the relationship with Allianz for the insurance portfolios and report to Christian Finckh, global head of Allianz Business Development.

Bey is currently chief investment officer at Allianz Trade and has more than 15 years of investment experience. He joined the German insurance group in 2011 as investment manager in Stuttgart and in Paris, before becoming head of investment management at Allianz Investment Management Paris. He became group CIO for Allianz Trade in 2020.

He started his career at Deloitte, as an auditor specialising in investment funds and reinsurance.

"With his in-depth knowledge of our client Allianz and his experience in investments, Johann Bey will maintain outstanding service quality for our group's insurance companies", said Finckh.

Last week, AllianzGI announced the appointment of Giles Money as CIO to lead a newly created team fully dedicated to sustainable and responsible investments as part of its offering in equities.

The global sustainability/SRI equity team is expected to collaborate closely with the thematic equity team led by Andreas Fruschki, which has established a suite of investments related to sustainable development goals.
