The Rockwool Ltd Pension Scheme has completed a £53m full buy-in.

The transaction with Royal London was advised by Isio, including brokering, actuarial, administration, and investment advice. Eversheds Sutherland gave legal advice. Rockwool Ltd is the UK arm of the Danish stone wool insulation manufacturer.

“This transaction demonstrates what can be achieved through effective collaboration,” said Amanda Asante, a professional trustee at Independent Governance Group.

Senior manager at Isio, Laura Parker, said: “We are proud to have supported the trustee with this transaction. This buy-in reflects the power of teamwork and expertise.”

Beatrice Male, BPA origination lead at Royal London, said the expertise from Isio and the close collaboration from all parties involved ensured a seamless process.

Royal London entered the bulk annuity market last year buying two of its own staff schemes before insuring two external schemes in autumn 2024. It targets pension schemes of up to £500m.
