The Society of Pension Professionals has said the industry is concerned about capacity to handle the volume of queries generated through pensions dashboards.

At an SPP webinar attended by around 250 pension professionals, 39% said their biggest concern with dashboards at present is the capacity to handle query volume.

Almost one in five (19%) said that data is their biggest worry when it comes to dashboards and 12% were most concerned about value data not accurately representing a member’s benefit.

“It's great to see the significant progress schemes have made in connecting to pensions dashboards, and the level of engagement across the industry. However, the findings from this SPP polling underline that important challenges remain,” said SPP member Lynda Whitney, a senior partner at Aon who chaired the event.

“Building confidence in the data that underpins dashboards will be vital for their success, and it’s encouraging that many schemes either feel ready or have clear plans in place to reach that position over the coming year,” Whitney added.

About four in five respondents (84%) feel their data is either clean enough to give members access to it via pensions dashboards (55%) or that they had a plan for getting there in 2026 (29%), though 10% said their plan for data cleansing will take over a year and 6% that their data was not ready – and that they did not have a plan in place for data cleansing.
