CDI Is Broader Than You Think

Maturing schemes need both predictable income and sufficient yield to reach and maintain full funding. Buy and Maintain Credit forms the core of a CDI strategy, providing reasonably predictable cashflows. But investment grade yields are too low for this to be a viable full solution and this could lead to schemes retaining more capital volatility from “growth” assets for longer than is necessary.

Fortunately, the range of assets which can be incorporated within a Cashflow-Driven Investing framework is much broader than this. We will discuss how this can enable more de-risking to be affordable earlier in the journey.

In an environment of low returns, institutional investors are increasingly seeking yield from different parts of the credit market.

Over dinner, Paul Triggiani, Managing Director & Head, Invesco WLR Credit Partners, will highlight how distressed small and mid-sized credit offer institutional investors a non-cyclical exposure to distressed credits, with the potential to provide mid-teens total returns and a regular income stream.

Paul will discuss the attractiveness of this asset class, what makes it different from other private credit sectors and how as an institutional investor it can be accessed.

Paul Triggiani Managing Director & Head, Invesco WLR Credit Partners
Prior to joining Invesco, Paul was a Managing Director of H.I.G. Bayside Capital, where he focused on control and non-control distressed debt and credit opportunities. Prior to H.I.G. Bayside Capital, Mr. Triggiani was a Managing Director of Strategic Value Partners with responsibility for distressed and special situations investments. While at Strategic Value Partners, Mr. Triggiani was co-head of U.S. corporate investments and was a member of the investment committee. Prior to Strategic Value Partners, Mr. Triggiani was a Partner of Heartland Industrial Partners LP. He began his career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. as an investment banker in the Corporate Finance and Real Estate departments. Mr. Triggiani received a B.A. in English Literature from Northwestern University and a M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
