Notable events include becoming founder signatories to the CDP (2000) and signatories to the PRI (2008), UK Stewardship code and Investment 2020 (2010 – which our CEO Andrew Formica co-founded), 30% Club (2012) and Women in Financer Charter (2016). More recently, Jupiter joined the RE100 initiative and Diversity Project (2017), signed the LGPS Investment Code of Transparency (2018) and joined the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (2019).

At this Digital Roundtable, Charlie Thomas will explore the significant changes in the view of investors and the markets on climate change and other sustainable solutions over the last few years. By better exploring the reasons for change it will help investors to understand whether such trends are not only sustainable but equally recognise some of the opportunities and pitfalls associated with such significant change. Jupiter is uniquely positioned given our heritage of over 30 years of sustainable, solution investing experience and learning.

This morning session is accredited for CPD points by the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) and is exclusively for pension fund decision makers and their advisors.

Speakers

Charlie Thomas
Charlie joined Jupiter in 2000 and is currently Head of Strategy, Environment and Sustainability. He is the manager of the Jupiter Ecology Fund and the Jupiter Responsible Income Fund (Unit Trusts), as well as institutional assets, the Jupiter Green Investment Trust PLC and the Jupiter Global Ecology Growth fund (SICAV). He is also co-manager of the Jupiter Global Ecology Diversified fund (SICAV).
Before joining Jupiter, Charlie spent three years working for BP, first as an environmental policy adviser where he helped develop climate change strategies and sustainable energy policies for the group, and later as a commercial analyst working on new business development. He has also worked for the United Nations Environment Programme as well as other financial institutions.
Charlie has an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London and a degree from Nottingham University.
