  17. Action is Needed, Use Your Thinking Time Wisely

2022 was the year in which the volatility in risk free assets was at bitcoin levels. Some aspects of the volatility have been positive, the size of buyout deficits have typically reduced, some aspects less so.

For many schemes their risk and return requirements have changed, and the search for liquidity has seen asset allocations drift from their strategic ranges.

What are the implications of this? Does stepping back and re-examining your investment objectives and longer-term aims also present an opportunity to think about how you approach sustainability? Does your Statement of Investment Principles say that is what you will do?

In this session Pete Smith, Head of Sustainable Investment, at Barnett Waddingham will discuss some of the sustainable investment considerations for those with both short and longer term buyout goals.
