mallowstreet Dublin Roadshow 2023

mallowstreet takes to the road again, this time to Dublin to bring together our Irish members with experts from leading asset managers.

In this morning workshop we will hear from three managers who will examine some of the key questions trustees should be focusing on in the current environment, new tools to evaluate risk, and where to find return.

This event is FREE to attend for investment decision makers and their advisers and is accredited for CPD points by the Pensions Management Institute (PMI).

  3. Investment Masterclass I - Seeking Diversification and Positive Risk-adjusted Returns in Uncertain Markets through Alternative Fixed Income

Bond markets have navigated a host of buzzwords over the past two years following the Covid contagion. Reflation, inflation, pivot, hard landing and recession are just some of them. The focus of policymakers has swung between concerns about growth at the height of the pandemic to containing spiralling inflation amid a volatile geopolitical environment. Fixed income markets have faced turbulence as central banks aggressively raised rates. This session will explain why a flexible approach is best suited for tackling this challenging macro backdrop.

  5. Investment Masterclass II - Real Estate Impact Investing in the Perfect Storm

After 10+ years of relative stability, real estate markets have changed radically in the last twelve months. We’ll be discussing how and why things have changed and what investors can now expect from a core European real estate allocation. We’ll focus in on sectors that can remain resilient in the perfect storm and how investing in social infrastructure is well-positioned to provide both a financial return and an impact return to communities and the environment.

    Speaker

Klaus Schmid & Christoph Butz - Franklin Templeton

  6. Tea, Coffee & Networking

  7. Investment Masterclass III - Financing the Transition of European Commercial Real Estate

From how we live to how we work, the pandemic has reshaped the world we live in. An acceleration in secular trends such as e-commerce, combined with limitations on travel and return to the office have had a profound impact on European real estate markets.

These factors combined with the increased capital expenditure required to meet current ESG standards has meant that the volume of buildings in transition has substantially increased.

PIMCO believes these dynamics present a compelling investment opportunity for pension schemes that are on a de-risking path to consider versus traditional fixed income strategies as they offer a high quality and floating rate income stream, a pick-up in yield and diversification benefits versus corporate debt.

    Speaker

Chris Hawketts & Fiona Furlong - PIMCO
