Sammy Cooper-Smith Business Development
Sammy heads up the Business Development team at Rothesay where he has been since 2011. Sammy has worked on close to 100 transactions covering in excess of £50bn of liability ranging in size from 600k to £12.4bn.

Cleo Taylor Smith Business Development
Cleo joined Rothesay’s Business Development team in 2018, having previously worked on the pricing of new business at Rothesay. She has over 12 years’ experience in the pensions industry, including 6 years advising trustee and corporate clients at WTW on all aspects of their UK pensions arrangements before joining Rothesay.
Cleo is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, and has a first class master’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Bristol.

Paul Mitchell Senior Product Specialist
Paul Mitchell is an investment specialist for the Global Bond Capability and brings over 25 years of asset management experience to the role. Prior to joining HSBC in 2017, Paul worked at Pioneer Investments as a senior product specialist in their Global Alternative Fund of Funds team and prior to this he was a senior client portfolio manager with JP Morgan Asset Management, specialising in Global Fixed Income. He holds an honours degree in Economics from Kingston University and the Investment Management Certificate.

Tim Bird Head of LGPS Business Development
Tim joined HSBC in August 2023 from Pictet Asset Management where he was a business development director covering the UK's largest corporate and Local Authority pension schemes. Prior to Pictet, Tim had similar roles at Allianz Global Investors and T. Rowe Price. Tim also spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management helping to build and develop their UK and Irish businesses. Tim brings a wealth of experience working with some of the most sophisticated clients in the UK and his background in both traditional and alternative markets will be invaluable as we continue to broaden our offering to the UK Institutional market.
