Deirdre Cooper Deirdre is Co-Head of Thematic Equity within the Multi-Asset team at Ninety One. She is co-portfolio manager for the Global Environment Strategy.
Prior to joining the team in 2018, Deirdre was a Partner, Portfolio Manager and Head of Research at Ecofin. Before joining Ecofin, Deirdre was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley where she headed their European Renewable Energy coverage effort and built an investment banking and principal investing franchise. She has long had a passion for sustainable investing and has worked on a voluntary basis in the microfinance sector both in the US and in Pakistan.
She is a member of the advisory board of Girls Who Invest, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to increase the percentage of the world’s investable capital run by women. She is also a member of the advisory board of the Shell Foundation’s Energy Company of the Future project, as well as the advisory board for Imperial College’s Centre for Climate Finance and Investment. Deirdre earned her MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar, and her BA from University College Dublin.

Atul Shinh Atul is an Investment Director at Ninety One, having joined the firm in 2013, and the industry in 2004.
Atul is an Investment Director within the Multi-Asset team at Ninety One, leading a team responsible for product management across our range of Growth, Income and Absolute Return strategies. Heis also a member of the Property and Infrastructure Research Group within the team. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Atul led Mercer’s Manager Research coverage for Multi-Asset strategies, working with institutional clients on the implementation of these strategies, and was also involved in the research of hedge fund strategies within Europe. Prior to this he worked in AXA’s Multi-Manager team and for the Financial Services Authority. Atul graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Mathematics and Economics and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.

Nick Samuels Nick Samuels, Head of Manager Research at Redington
Nick joined Redington in September 2015 as a Director in the Manager Research team. Now Head of Manager Research, he leads a talented team who help institutional and wealth management clients around the world allocate to the funds that get them closer to their strategic goals. Nick is chair of Redington’s Responsible Investment Committee and also a voting member of Redington’s Investment Strategy Committee. He works directly with several of the firm’s clients in the UK and Europe.
Nick began his investment career in 2000 at Schroders, where he worked on the Asia and Emerging Market equity teams, before moving into manager research roles at investment consultancy Stamford Associates, South African multi-manager Momentum Global Investment Management and US multi-manager SEI Investments.
