  3. GREENSTEEL – The Case for Change

Demand for steel is forecast to double by 2050. Steel will continue to be the backbone and enabler of society’s evolution and progress. It will make the world a better place to live. Tomorrow’s smart cities will be built on steel. As an infinitely recyclable and reusable asset, using steel helps to reduce the burden on the Earth’s resources. And yet steel accounts for around 10% of global GHG emissions. We won’t get to net zero if we can’t decarbonise steel production. So how do we do that? And how do asset owners assess the investment case and barriers to implementation?
