mallowstreet Dublin Roadshow

mallowstreet University takes to the road again, this time to Dublin to bring together our Irish members with experts from leading asset managers.

In this morning workshop we will hear from three managers who will examine some of the key questions trustees should be focusing on in the current environment, new tools to evaluate risk, and where to find return.

This event is FREE to attend for investment decision makers and their advisers and is accredited for CPD points by the Pensions Management Institute (PMI).

  3. Investment Masterclass I - Natural Capital

In the global fight against climate change, nature and biodiversity are often overlooked since these vast and complex subjects are often challenging to tackle. Interestingly, while nature based solutions account for 30% off greenhouse gases mitigation potential, they benefit only from 3% of climate finance.

Beyond their mitigation impact on climate change, nature and biodiversity are also essential for food security and a number of ecosystems services.

Despite an increased awareness of biodiversity finance, little information is available about the current innovative financial solutions that exist in the market. There is a gap between wanting to invest in nature and the opportunity and capacity to do so.

This proposed masterclass aims to address this information gap and help advance the growing interest by providing a more comprehensive overview of existing investment solutions related to sustainable land use and biodiversity protection and restoration.

  5. Investment Masterclass II - Planet, people, profit: Under the hood of sustainable equity analysis

Social inequality in its various forms is increasingly being recognised as a key priority for companies, asset owners and governments, while COP15 has rightly focused minds on the urgent need to protect and restore Earth's biodiversity. Capital markets have a key role to play in this process, but on a practical level how can investors best construct portfolios that balance the needs of planet, people and profit? To what extent can data help?

This session offers a deep dive into how fundamental sustainability analysis can be done in equities, using case studies to illustrate the opportunities available for asset owners to create portfolios that minimise impact on the environment, while maximising value for society – all while providing the returns that we need for our savings.
