Ben Clissold Head Of Fixed Income & Treasury, USS Investment ManagementBen joined USS Investment Management Limited as Head of Fixed Income and Treasury in January 2020. He was previously at BlackRock where he managed the LDI business in EMEA and led the coordination of Integrated LDI across Global Fixed Income. In addition, he was the Chair of BlackRock’s Investment Oversight Committee and was responsible for $22bn active LDI clients. Prior to this, Ben worked with P-Solve as Deputy CIO, where he was the Chair of the Derivative Policy Committee and a voting member of the Investment Committee. Ben has an MSc in Mathematics from Durham University.

Clive Gilchrist BESTrustees
Clive is an independent trustee acting for a wide variety of pension schemes. After an early career in stockbroking and investment management, including ten years at PosTel (now Hermes), he founded BESTrustees in 1992, where until 2010 he was Managing Director. He was Deputy Chairman until last year when he stood down to become a Trustee of the Employee Ownership Trust that now owns BESTrustees.
He was a member of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (formerly the National Association of Pension Funds) Council and Investment Committee for many years including two years as Investment Chairman. He has also chaired the Pension Committee of The Association of Corporate Trustees.
Clive has served on a number of City and industry bodies including the Takeover Panel and the Accounting Standards Board Financial Services Committee. He has been a non-executive director of a number of public companies and investment funds and is a member of the UK CFA Society.

Caroline Hopper Lead Consultant, Quietroom
Caroline is a Lead Consultant at Quietroom. Since joining in 2015, she’s helped asset managers communicate with investment consultants, helped fiduciary managers tell their story to trustees, and helped trustee boards talk to their members – in both the calm and the storm. She’s created videos about responsible investing, and animations about pension options. She’s worked on pensions communications and strategy for organisations including the FCA, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, Nest, the People’s Pension, Prudential, Royal Mail, and SAUL.
Caroline is an ambassador for the Insuring Women’s Futures programme, a CFA UK Certificate in ESG holder, and a regular public speaker on the power of pensions. She also worked on the beginnings of Make My Money Matter, a campaign calling for the trillions of pounds invested in our UK pensions to build a better world.
