American Century Investments are hosting their second mallowstreet University Workshop as part of the 2012 series of education events.

With the concern of inflation being an ever growing risk in the management of pension fund liabilities, we examine how a diversified portfolio of inflation-linked assets can help in the hedging of the problem. Bob Gahagan, Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at American Century, will discuss a range of asset classes that share inflation-hedging characteristics and the asset allocation provess employed to create an optimal portfolio.

Robert V Gahagan
Bob is a senior portfolio manager and member of the firms Macro Strategy Team, which sets investment policy for the Fixed Income group. He also leads the Liquid Markets and Securitized Markets teams. These two sector teams contribute to the management of several fixed income strategies, including Core Fixed Income and Core Plus, as well as our inflation-linked and government-related fixed income strategies. Bob has been with firm since 1983 and is based in our Mountain View, California office. He holds a bachelors degree in economics and an MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Security Analysts of San Francisco.
