M&G
Investments in collaboration with mallowstreet is pleased to be hosting a
mallowstreet University breakfast workshop.
John Barakat, Head of Real
Estate Finance at M&G, will share his knowledge from working in Real Estate
for over 20 years.
As the financial crisis has swept through the banking sector and capital
markets, a giant hole has been left in the real estate finance arena. There are
far fewer banks providing long-term debt, while €1trn of outstanding real estate
debt remains, of which approximately €500bn needs to be refinanced over the next
three years. This has left a huge funding gap – a gap that we believe
institutional investors are well suited to help fill.
This workshop will cover the opportunities available to institutional
investors within real estate debt, namely junior and senior mortgages –
securities which currently offer superior returns, and additional security, to
corporate bonds of similar credit quality. We will also assess the benefits and
risks of real estate debt, how to invest in the asset class and what to look out
for when investing.
This event is FREE for Trustees, Pensions Chairs,
Pensions Managers, Pensions Secretaries and Independent Trustees. Places are
limited and allocated on a first-some, first-served basis; to avoid
disappointment please register below.
