James Ind James is the lead portfolio manager for the Fund and bringsexperience in managing money across multiple asset classes.James joined GLG in July 2013. Previously, he was aManaging Director and a portfolio manager for RussellInvestments, heading the team responsible for managementof multi-asset portfolios with AUM of USD 6bn. Prior tothis, as a director of portfolio managers at Merrill Lynch,James had responsibility for multi-asset target return fundsand global balanced models. He was also a member of theEuropean investment strategy committee overseeing EMEAasset allocation. James was educated at Durham Universityand at Cass Business School, where he received his MBA inFinance. He is a CFA charter holder. -
Kumaran Damodaran Kumaran joined GLG in December 2012 as an Emerging Market portfolio manager within the new fixed-income platform. Previously he was an Executive Vice President and emerging and global markets portfolio manager at PIMCO. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2008, he had several years of experience as a franchise trader managing proprietary positions. He was a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers, trading Latin American local currency derivatives. He also previously held trading roles at Credit Suisse in Latin American and emerging European markets, spanning currency, interest rate and credit derivatives markets. He holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Cambridge University, where he was a British Marshall Scholar and a Graduate Fellow of the National Science Foundation. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University. -
Mohit Kumar Mohit Kumar | Asset Manager, Fixed Income
Mohiy joined GLG in May 2013. Previously, Mohit was Head of Euroland rates strategy at Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for formulating rates strategies and trade ideas for European sovereign fixed income, both for Deutsche Bank traders as well as firm's key clients. Prior to his role at DB, he was a proprietary trader at Goldman Sachs, trading a variety of asset classes including fixed income, equities and FX from a macro perspective. Mohit holds a B. Tech in Computer Science form IT Delhi and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. -
Ludovic Feuillet Ludo worked with Driss at GS in the emerging market trading group after spending two years in the GS M&A practice. He graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique (MSc) and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees (MSc). -
Brian Pinto Brian Pinto joined GLG Partners LLP as Chief Economist, Emerging Markets, in March 2013. Prior to that, he served as Senior Adviser in the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Network of the World Bank Group. His areas of expertise include economic growth, fiscal policy and sovereign debt, the economics of oil exporting countries and transition economics. Brian was Senior Economist for the World Bank in Poland at the start of its momentous reforms (1990-1992) and Lead Economist in Russia, witnessing first-hand its 1998 crisis and susequent recovery (1998-2001). While serving as Adviser to the Managing Director for Africa, Europe and Central Asia and South Asia from 2008-20120 he obtained a unique perspective as this period coincided with the global financial crisis and its aftermath. Brian's publications have appeared in the 'Brookings Papers on Economic Activity' , the 'Economic Journal', 'Journal of International Economics', 'The Review of Economic Studies' and other professional journals. In 2005, a book he edited jointly with Professor Joshua Aizenman, ' Managing Economic Volatility and Crises: A practitioners Guide', was published by Cambridge University Press. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, as well as degrees from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and Loyola College, Madras University, India. -
Sudi Mariappa Sudesh (Sudi) joined GLG in September 2012 to develop and manage GLG's absolute return fixed income offering. Sudi worked at PIMCO from 2000 to 2010 and was promoted to Managing Director in 2003. He ran the Global Portfolio Team until 2008, managing an International team of investment managers. Under his oversight, AUM in global portfolios increased from USD 10 bn to USD 85 bn. From 2009 to 2010, Sudi was senior advisor to PIMCO, working closely with founder Bill Gross on the firm's suite of hedge funds and also directed various risk, strategy and advisory projects. Before PIMCO, Sudi was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch, Tokyo. He also worked for Sumitomo Finance International and Long Term Capital Management in San Francisco and Salomon Brothers in Tokyo. Sudi holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from Cornell University. -
Jamil Baz Jamil joined GLG Partners in 2008 as Chief Investment Strategist. Prior to this, he was an Executive Vice-President with PIMCO where he managed global portfolios. Jamil has also worked as a Managing Director in the Proprietary Trading Group of Goldman Sachs, as the Chief Investment Strategist of Deutsche Bank and as Managing Director at Lehman Brothers. Jamil holds degrees from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales ("Diplome", the London School of Economics (MSc), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (SM) and Harvard University (AM, PhD) He also teaches Financial Economics at Oxford University.
