Some multi-asset investors are now focussed on diversifying the risk factors embedded within assets, rather than on diversifying the asset classes per se, providing a new dimension to ‘multi asset’ and ‘diversified growth’.

This educational session will focus on the theory and, in particular, the practice of risk factor investing.

Toby Hayes - Vice President - Portfolio Manager
Toby Hayes is responsible for overseeing the Franklin Templeton Diversified Growth and Franklin Templeton Diversified Income funds. He is also a member of the Global Investment Committee. Toby has thirteen years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to Franklin Templeton, Toby was a multi-asset portfolio manager and a partner for Pacific Investments developing various derivative-based alternative strategies. He was also a founding partner at Armstrong investment managers, a multi-asset boutique where he managed global macro multi-asset portfolios.
David Smart - Managing Director
David Smart joined Franklin Templeton Investments in 1988 and has held a variety of positions including being a global fixed income manager, head of the EMEA institutional business and global head of sovereign funds. In 2008, David was appointed chairman of the National Trust Investment Committee which overseas its £1 billion endowment fund.
