Our panel then tackled a number of topics, from members’ views on Natural Capital to how pension funds invest in Natural Capital opportunities.

Jordan Griffiths, Sustainable Investment Consultant at Barnett Waddingham, picked up the conversation, taking a holistic view of how Natural Capital can either compromise and/or complement a pension scheme’s other ESG risks and opportunities (such as climate change) and wider risks and opportunities (such as liquidity and cashflow needs).

Mark Thompson, an experienced Independent Trustee, closed the day with a fireside chat where he explained why he believes trustees should be concerned with biodiversity loss, shared his experience during the integration process, and gave his advice for those about to go through a similar journey.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended and contributed to the day – for your questions, your comments and insights.

For those who were there, what are your main takeaways? For those who couldn’t make it, what are the burning questions on your mind around the key challenges you are facing, and where do you need help?
