OK, so no sex or drugs, but lots of rock and roll!
Seven years ago, we had an idea. What if we could find the rockers of the pensions industry and put them on stage? Dawid Konotey-Ahulu, my friend Charlie Thomas and I got together and launched the first ever rock event for pensions – and had a blast!
Since its inaugural gig all those years ago, mallowstreet Rocks has raised over £70,000 for charities across the UK and globe.
Each band is on stage representing their chosen charity, praying to the gods of rock that our panel of judges (including our very own Simon Cowell) scores them highly. The winning band takes home the lion’s share of all money raised, with all other bands also receiving a donation. mallowstreet Rocks has made donations to over 30 different charities, including:
Cancer Research UK, MS-UK, Nordoff Robbins, London’s Air Ambulance, JDFR and Cavell Nurses’ Trust.
And this is why we do it – to have a night with lots of fun, all in the name of charity! Help make this year our biggest year ever, as we try and raise an additional £10K for charity!
