Even though I use SOFI, I still jot down notes in my notebook in a meeting – but in a different way. I’m no longer furiously trying to get every point down in writing, I’m just flagging the key moments. I can now actively listen, which is hugely liberating and hugely effective.
Let’s think about questions. We all remember questions from a meeting. It forms the basis of any follow-up. I can even connect questions I’ve had a cross a few meetings to try and draw out common themes. But as a human, my recall is poor, at best patchy, and quickly degrades over time.
