Mark Meiklejon Head of Real Asset Investment
Mark leads our Real Assets Investment Specialist team globally, who bridge and coordinate between the Real Estate, Infrastructure and Private Debt investment teams and Aviva Investors global sales, marketing and client relationship management teams. This team are also responsible for commercialising relationships with specialist global Real Asset investors, and for supporting distribution across all of our investment capability. The team are also integral in developing new Real Asset strategies and solutions with our investment & distribution teams, as well as ensuring our existing funds and products are fit for purpose and best in class. He is a member of the senior leadership team for Real Assets and Global Product teams. Mark has more than 20 years investment experience, and joined Aviva Investors in 2018. He began his career as an equity analyst and portfolio manager with Blairlogie and then Britannic Asset Management, before joining Standard Life Investments in 2003 as part of the Real Estate Research and Strategy team with a focus on new product launches & client strategy. He held various positions as a client director and investment director before heading the Real Estate Specialist team from 2013 and latterly heading a coordinated specialist team across Private Markets.

Luke Layfield Portfolio Manager, Climate Transition Real Assets Fund
Luke is portfolio manager of the Climate Transition Real Assets Fund which invests sustainably in value-add real estate and infrastructure across the UK and Europe, as well as directly owned forestry in order to achieve net zero by 2040. Luke also manages several multi-real asset funds which deliver secure, consistent and inflation-protected income to help pension schemes meet their liabilities. Luke joined Aviva Investors in 2008 and previously led the Portfolio Analysis team, where he was responsible for the financial underwriting of transactions and quantitative Portfolio Analysis. He has previously worked on the Real Estate Research team and as an analyst for the UK specialist real estate funds. Luke holds an MSc in real estate investment from Bayes Business School and an MA in Politics and Economics from the University of Cambridge. He also holds the Investment Management Certificate and is a CFA charterholder

Zoe Austin Portfolio Manager, Alternative Income team
Zoe is a Portfolio Manager in the Alternative Income team, including being deputy portfolio manager of the Climate Transition Real Assets Fund. She manages portfolios of alternative income and real assets for pension fund clients. Zoe has over 20 years’ experience of real assets, particularly infrastructure investments. Until 2017 she led one of the sterling infrastructure origination and asset management teams with a focus on social infrastructure. She was Business Manager to the Aviva CFO for two years before returning to Aviva Investors in 2019 as portfolio manager.
Zoe holds a BA and MA in Economics and an MBA from the University of East Anglia.

Heather Brown Senior Client Solutions Director
Heather is responsible for managing and establishing relationships with UK institutional pension scheme clients and leads our DC pensions channel. Heather has experience as a Trustee Director for the Aviva Staff Pension Scheme – a large hybrid DB and DC pension scheme. Before joining Aviva Investors, Heather spent three years at Pictet Asset Management as part of their UK institutional team. Prior to that, Heather spent over 20 years at the actuarial consultant, Lane Clark & Peacock LLP, working her way up to become a Partner in the Investment Practice. In her role she advised DB and DC pension scheme clients on a range of investment issues, including strategic asset allocation and manager selection. Heather holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics from York University.

Joachim Sudre Client Solutions Director
As part of the institutional business in the UK & Ireland, Joe works with defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes, including multi-employer schemes, to develop meaningful investment outcomes for their members. Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Joe worked at Russell Investments in London as part of their UK institutional business focusing on DB pension schemes. Prior to Russell Investments Joe worked at Oddo BHF, BNP Paribas and an independent advisory firm in telecommunications infrastructure projects. He is a Council member of AIMSE Europe. Joe holds an advanced master in Finance from NEOMA Business School. He also holds the Investment Management Certificate and is a CAIA® Charterholder.
