The mallowstreet Indaba* series continues for 2025, this time focusing on all things local government pension scheme. At this LGPS Indaba we will be exploring the challenges that LGPS' face and plotting a course to overcome these hurdles. These funds, responsible for the retirements of millions, represent a substantial market that demands due care and attention. Our comprehensive program is built to provide you with the knowledge, understanding, strategies, and connections imperative to success.

    Building on the publication of the LPPI paper titled 'LGPS and the appetite for risk - Can we smile?', this session explores the LGPS investment model. As the LGPS potentially moves further into surplus at the 2025 valuation, we will look at strategies for achieving long-term affordability while managing short-term risks to contribution volatility through the triennial valuation cycle. What are the trade-offs in Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) construction to balance these risk horizons and aims to discuss other elements of the LGPS investment model.
