Trade tensions, inflation, recession risks, and interest rate volatility have unsettled markets and slowed decision-making. Traditional strategies – broad, momentum-driven approaches, cap rate compression, rent growth – no longer provide a reliable foundation and are proving insufficient in today’s environment. 


    While the recovery will likely be slow and uneven, Debt, a long-standing cornerstone of PIMCO’s $170bn+ real estate platform, remains highly attractive thanks to its relative value. With approximately $1.9 trillion in U.S. loans and €315 billion in European loans* expected to mature by the end of 2026, this wave of maturities creates a variety of debt investment opportunities.
