Atanas Bostandjiev Founder and CEO
Atanas founded Gemcorp in 2014 and is responsible for the Group’s strategy, leadership, and growth. Prior to founding Gemcorp, Atanas was the CEO of VTB Capital UK, responsible for building the bank’s international capital markets business across Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Prior to that, he was a Partner at Goldman Sachs, co-running the FICC Emerging Market Business in Europe. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Atanas was a managing director at Merrill Lynch in London. In 2011 Atanas founded Chance for the Children of Bulgaria foundation, which supports the development of talented and capable young Bulgarians aged 6 to 20 by sponsoring their education, professional training, and career development. Recently, it became the first Bulgarian organisation to integrate with the European Talent Support Network and become an official “European Talent Point”.
Atanas completed a BA in Politics, Banking and Finance from Washington College in Maryland, USA.

Michael Casagranda Head of Sales, UK, Northern Europe and Switzerland
Michael, Gemcorp’s Head of Sales for the UK & Northern Europe, has over 25 years’ experience working with institutional investors. He joined Gemcorp from Global Evolution where he represented Global Evolution’s Emerging & Frontier Debt strategies with UK institutional clients.
Previously, he spent ten years with Stone Harbor Investment Partners where he was responsible for institutional sales and relationship management across the UK & Ireland. Prior to Stone Harbor, he was at BlueBay Asset Management where he had responsibility for clients in the Nordics & Benelux. Michael began his career at the Capital Group Companies in Los Angeles.
